Food Pantry & Girard House

All classes at St. Joseph School collect food once a month for our parish food pantry. Students bring food and are given a jean day and early dismissal.

St. Joseph School also supports Gerard House, which provides a caring, supportive home for women preparing to give birth. This past Christmas, the faculty purchased a crib in the name of our priests here at St. Joseph Parish. The crib and special baby gifts from students were presented to Gerard House as Christmas presents at a special Mass. Prior to Mass, students and faculty processed from the school to the church singing Mary Had a Baby. This is one of our favorite traditions that is now in its second year. Since St. Gerard, the patron saint of pregnant women, is also a Redemptorist, supporting Gerard House has special meaning for St. Joseph students and faculty.

Below are pictures of St. Joseph students assembling the crib and Fr. Dawson and students preparing the crib and baby gifts for presentation to Gerard House.
